Orlando, Fla. - March 10, 2014 - The Health Law Firm is pleased to announce that Lenis L. Archer, J.D., M.P.H., has joined the firm as an attorney at its Altamonte Springs office. Her practice will focus on the representation of health professionals and licensed health facilities in litigation, licensing and disciplinary issues, contracts, appeals, administrative hearings, regulatory matters, and Medicare and Medicaid defense.

Ms. Archer earned her Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) in May 2005 from the University of South Florida with a concentration in Global Health. She graduated in May 2009, with her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Florida A&M University College of Law. Ms Archer is licensed to practice in Florida.

Prior to joining The Health Law Firm, Ms. Archer was selected for and completed a federal clerkship with The Honorable Bernice B. Donald, then a United States District Court Judge in the Western District of Tennessee. In this role, Ms. Archer worked on a large variety of federal court civil and criminal matters, including employment discrimination and business litigation cases. Ms. Archer also has experience in personal injury litigation, conducting discovery in large class action lawsuits, and medical malpractice defense litigation.

Ms. Archer also has hands-on experience in the health care field.  While earning her M.P.H., she completed her externship in Florida Hospital's Infection Control Department.  Ms. Archer is currently an adjunct professor at Adventist University of Health Sciences, Orlando, where she teaches Legal and Ethical Aspects of Health Care to allied health students working on health science degrees.

Ms. Archer is currently a member of The Florida Bar Health Law Section, The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division, the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TAANA), the Orange County Bar Association and the Seminole County Bar Association.
