Seven Things To Know When You Receive A Notice Of Investigation From The Department Of Health

I received in the mail a letter from the Florida Department of Health with a Nondisciplinary Citation in it. What is this and what should I do?

Speaker 1: Ordinarily, the Florida Department of Health will offer a nondisciplinary citation in lieu of any major punishment for minor offenses such as not having the right number of continuing education units, or for something else as minor and for which major discipline is not required.

Often you should go ahead and sign off on this and agree to the punishment, which is ordinarily a small fine and the case would be over with. If you don’t do that, then the case might be forwarded on for charges to be filed against you and a formal preceding to take place. However, it is important to remember that before you sign any documents from the Department of Health, to consult with an experienced health law attorney to help you make that decision.
