Seven Things To Know When You Receive A Notice Of Investigation From The Department Of Health

I am a physician. I received a letter from an investigator about a complaint filed against me. Should I send the investigator my statement?

Speaker 1: The short answer to this question, is no. Any statement you make, oral or written, can be used against you even though it may seem to you to be exculpatory, or simple and just state obvious facts. Anything that you say, can be used against you. You need to immediately contact an experienced Health Care Attorney to give you advice on what is going on. In Florida, you have no obligation to speak to a Department of Health Investigator, and you have no obligation to provide your resume or CV. In many cases, we advise not to do so, as these documents can be used against you. There are exceptions to every rule, and you need the advice of a Health Law Attorney
