Did you know that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a public list of physicians with DEA registrations that have been arrested and prosecuted? On the DEA's website, there is a list of all investigations of physician registrants in which the DEA was involved that resulted in the arrest and prosecution of the registrant which was updated and released on April 3, 2012.

The list includes:
• The name of the physician;
• The physician's city/state;
• Date of arrest/conviction;
• Judicial status;
• Conviction;
• Status of the physician's DEA registration; and
• Remarks regarding the physician's case.

We cannot vouch for the validity of the information on the DEA's list. We just know it was published.

Hi, I am trying to find out if my doctor, Ashmead Ali in the Cal. City Clinic, Mojave CA is under investigation. He has not been arrested yet but no one in my area will accept an rx for any medication from him at this time. I need to know if this is true. Under investigation and being arrested are 2 different things... please get back to be ASAP Thanks, gy

I just received a letter stating that my doctor is under investigation for "on one or more occasions, billed a health care benefit program as though you were a patient." I'm not certain what this means, if my doctor will require legal representation and if there is a way for me to prevent the federal government from using my medical records in any way to build a case. If anyone has an suggestion, i'm open to it and would gladly speak to a professional. I'm even interested in opinions at this point, as getting facts seems a rather tenuous affair at this point. Chances are it'll be plea bargained out and fines and/or restitution will be made, but the patients are the ones who ultimately suffer because the DEA and Federal Government want to chase down low hanging fruit... being doctors who keep records, rather than actual dealers on the street. My apologies for hijacking this forum if this is the wrong place to attempt to have this discussion. Thank you for your time. -Harold
