Healthcare Law or Health LawHealthcare law or health law encompasses the laws and regulations governing hospital and healthcare administration, and an understanding healthcare insurance is integral to it. There are significant differences in the types and amount of coverage provided by various private insurance policies, such as HMOs, PPOs, disability insurance, and hospital indemnity insurance, just as there are important differences in the cost to you. There are also public healthcare insurance programs. Elderly and disabled persons may be eligible for coverage through the federal Medicare Program (L-#-A). The joint state-federal Medicaid Program (L-#-B) helps certain individuals, including disabled persons and low-income elderly persons, pay for long-term care and in-home healthcare In Florida, the Florida Bar recognizes a number of different legal specialties and grants certification in them. One of the areas of legal specialization is Health Care Law or Health Law. The process by which an attorney may become a board certified health care lawyer are rigorous and include, a minimum of five years of practice, a minimum number of years of practice in the area of specialty, a minimum number of hours of advanced continuing legal education courses in the area, a rigorous certification examination and a peer review process. As of 2005, there are only 110 members of the Florida Bar who are board
